mainly living near campus ("Lung Mor") at kku, I traveled to six different communities, all grappling with various obstacles brought on by globalization. Issues ranged from lacking agency to control local irrigation patterns and thus facing agricultural hardships, to communities transitioning to chemical-free agriculture and fighting against a gold mine whose ore-purifying practices poison the water and soil of villagers. long weekends provided time to travel to different regions in Thailand. Spring break showed me a glimpse of the south, a trip to Laos cracked the foundation of my American education, showing me the intense and ongoing legacy of America's Secret War there. after my studies concluded, I was able to sightsee in Vietnam and Singapore.
